Slovakia Educational System is similar to most European countries' educational system. With primary, secondary and tertiary education. In secondary education, Slovakia ranks just below the USA but just above Spain (2010 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) report). In terms of tertiary education, Slovakian universities and institutes provide bachelor, masters and doctoral degrees and programs.
Most however are taught in Slovakian but more and more universities are implementing new English courses and programs to attract foreign students. Bachelors commonly take 3-4 years, masters 2-3 years and doctoral programs 3-4 years (full time).
All students are able to study in public universities for little to no tuition fees, however only in Slovakian.
Programs in English, German and other foreign language require payment of tuition fees. |
