Climate: The climate in Slovenia changes with location and elevation. In the north or in the mountains the climate is considered continental with hot summers and cold winters but in the south along the coast line, the climate is mediated by the Mediterranean sea, this mixture of climates leads to interesting daily weather with Average yearly rainfall averaging from 800mm in the East to over 3,500mm in the West. Despite this, winds are often low throughout the country due to the mountainous terrain.
Terrain: The Slovenian terrain varies greatly: With the Alps in the North West of the country and a short coastline in the South. The north East of Slovenia is essentially flat plains land. However, the majority of Slovenia remains mountainous or hilly. Rivers are also common throughout the country, Slovenia is also one of the countries with the greatest concentration of water in Europe. Half of the country is also dominated by natural forests.
